Round & About
The Rhins of Galloway and the surrounding area have much to captivate the visitor. Excellent Golf Courses, walking and biking, birdwatching, beautiful scenery and a relaxing pace of life. Holidays like they used to be.
The harbour of Portpatrick, is also nearby. The port town of Stranraer is just up the peninsular and from nearby Cairnryan you can take the ferry to Ireland, if you feel like a spot of foreign travel.
Drummore provides a perfect base for garden lovers. Ardwell Gardens, as well as the Logan Botanical Gardens and Glenwhan Gardens, are close at hand and well worth a visit.
About 8 miles north of the cottages, near Sandhead with its wide beaches, stand the Kirkmadrine Stones - possibly the oldest Christian monuments extant in Scotland.
The Mull of Galloway is now an RSPB Nature Reserve and the views beside the lighthouse are stunning. On a clear day one can see the Isle of Man and Ireland
